The appointment was cleared at the cabinet meeting of the Royal Thai Government, and Dr. Prasarn is slated to assume his new position on October 1 after receiving a royal command from His Majesty the King endorsing his position.

She is the second woman to be appointed at this position since its establishment in 2002.
