Nanotechnology moving beyond evolutionary architectures

Nanotechnology moving beyond evolutionary architectures

This was stated by Prof. Pinaki Mazumder, University of Michigan, USA,
while delivering a special lecture on “Beyond CMOS Technology and
Evolutionary Architectures” at the Asian Institute of Technology on 12
October 2010.

Prof. Mazumder stated that during the post-shrinking era,  many
commercially viable technologies are likely to emerge in order to
sustain the demands for exponential economic growth throughout the
first quarter of the twenty-first Century. The semi conductor industry
is a multibillion dollar industry, a fact that is important while
considering the commercial viability of new emerging technologies, he
added.

Earlier Prof. Mazumder was welcomed by Prof. Joydeep Dutta, Vice
President for Academic Affairs and Director, Center of Excellence in
Nanotechnology (CoEN) at AIT. AIT's Prof. Gabor Hornyak presented a
textbook on Nanotechnology to Prof. Mazumder. The textbook is jointly
authored by Prof. Hornyak and Prof. Dutta.
