Mr. Md. Quddos Khan, Registrar, DIU, stated that their university is
keen to pursue academic collaboration with AIT, apart from offering
joint programs as well as short courses. DIU can also facilitate
student admissions to AIT, he added.
Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Said Irandoust, President, AIT, said
the DIU and AIT could consider offering a two stage Master’s program,
apart from an integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. Citing the
example of the AIT China Office, Prof. Irandoust suggested that
establishing a project office could be mutually beneficial. Depending
on the results achieved by the project office, the two can discuss the
possibility of upgrading the partnership.
Mr. Abraruddin Ahmad, Vice Chairman, Darul Ihsan Trust, said the idea
of a project office is welcome. The office would not only work on
student recruitment, but also help in training and consultancy projects
along with both AIT Extension and AIT Consulting. Prof. Md. Rashedul
Islam, Proctor and Outreach Campus Director, DIU, remarked that they
could offer a bridging program for prospective AIT students.
Apart from Prof. Irandoust, Prof. Joydeep Dutta, Vice President for
Academic Affairs; Dr. Pritam Krishna Shrestha, Head, External Relations
and Communications Office (ERCO); and Mr. Kyaw Soe Hlaing, Program
Coordinator, ERCO also participated in the meeting.
