AIT volunteers rush to Japan to offer assistance
A team of volunteers, including AIT student Mr. Clinton Smith, and Regional ICT Coordinator of Télécoms Sans Frontières Mr. Sebastien Sivadier, have rushed to Japan to offer assistance in the wake of the destruction caused by the earthquake and tsunami which struck Japan on 11 March 2011.
AIT Mini Olympics
AIT Student Union will be organizing Mini Olympics from 14-31 March 2011. Scheduled competitions include football, badminton, basketball, chairball, cricket, tug of war, snooker, table tennis, athletics (100 meter, 500 meter), swimming, petanque, volleyball, squash and chess.

Professional Master’s in Banking and Finance (PMBF), a program jointly offered by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern (FNHW), Switzerland was formally launched at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 14 March 2011.
AIT offers condolences to victims of Japan disaster
Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) President, Prof. Said Irandoust, has expressed his condolences at the loss of life and the widespread damage caused by the earthquake in Japan, and the subsequent tsunami that struck Japan on 11 March 2011.
Launch of Professional Master’s in Banking and Finance
The “Professional Master's in Banking and Finance Program (PMBF) shall be formally inaugurated on 14 March 2011 at the Milton E. Bender Jr. Auditorium at AIT at 9.00 hours. AIT President Prof. Said Irandoust shall inaugurate the program.The program will be run jointly by AIT Extension and the School of Management.
Asian Aquaculture Network to offer joint programs with AIT
Amidst the presence of the Ambassador of Cambodia and representative of the Embassy of Timor Leste, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Asian Aquaculture Network (AAN) to develop and offer an Aquaculture Extension Program.
DIU keen on AIT office in Bangladesh
Darul Ihsan University (DIU), Bangladesh, has expressed keen interest in opening an AIT project office in Bangladesh. This was conveyed by a high level delegation of DIU, which visited AIT on 9 March 2011.
AIT’s China Office gets media attention
The inauguration of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) China Office has grabbed significant media attention in both China and Thailand. The Nation newspaper in Thailand in a news item published on 7 March 2011, while mentioning that AIT inaugurated a new office in Shanghai, the first of its kind in China, stated that the move will increase the visibility of AIT in China.
700 signatories participate in Women’s Day signature campaign
Seven hundred signatories participated in the International Women’s Day signature campaign organized at the Asian Institute of Technology on 8 March 2011. Participants included students, faculty members, members of AIT administration, as well as young children from the AIT International School. All signatories were honored with a purple badge.
