Second training workshop on Bilan Carbon® methodology and tool for calculating Green House Gases (GHS) emissions will be organized at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) from 09-13 March 2011. The last date of registration is 21 February 2011 and a maximum of 14 participants will be invited for the training program.

International Women’s Day
AIT will celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March 2011 by organizing a range of activities. The AIT Student Union Culture and Gender Committee will take the lead in organzing “purple day” and a signature campaign to ensure a better, equal and a safe future for girls.

GIZ seeks to tap AIT’s expertise in Timor-Leste

German Society of International Cooperation (GIZ) is interested in tapping the expertise of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in capacity building initiatives in Timor Leste. GIZ and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Timor-Leste, are actively seeking partners to help enhance the level of agriculture education in the country. This was stated by Mr. Heinz-Josef Heile, Head, Rural Development Program, GIZ, Timor-Leste, during a visit to AIT.
Huge demand for engineering education in Pakistan

There is a huge demand for engineering and management programs in Pakistan with the number of aspirants growing every year. Over 10,000 prospective students seek admission to engineering courses in the Islamabad region alone, while the existing capacity is limited to 1000 seats. These were the remarks of Prof. Zahid Saleem, Professor and Campus In-charge of Islamabad Campus of Federal Urdu University of Arts Sciences and Technology (FUUAST), Islamabad, Pakistan, during his visit to Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 2 March 2011.
