The MoU was signed by AIT President Prof. Said Irandoust and Director,
BIMTECH, Dr. H Chaturvedi on 19 August 2011 in Delhi. The MoU was
signed in the presence of the Ambassador of The Kingdom of Thialand to
India, H.E. Mr. Pisan Manawapat, and H.E. Dr. Tej Bunnag, Former
Foreign Minister of Thailand and Chairman, AIT Board of Trustees.

Signing the MoU, Prof. Irandoust said, “Our partnership will help in
harnessing and contributing towards knowledge development in this part
of Asia.” Dr. Chaturvedi underlined the strategic strengths of both
institutes, stating that the two institutions will jointly organize
executive programs for middle and higher level management for both the
private and the public sector.

AIT and BIMTECH have also
announced that the two institutes will work together for collaborative
research in the areas of sustainable development, natural resource
management, social business, and emerging markets. The two institutes
will capitalize on their inherent strengths in environment and social
development to develop case studies; engage in organizing conferences
and seminars; apart from other academic outputs. This will help engage
students and faculty of both institutes in producing practice based
knowledge.

Dr. Tej appreciated the efforts “to expand the knowledge base in the
South Asian region in the fields of management and sustainable
development areas, through research, collaborative programs and
capacity building.” Ambassador Pisan congratulated both partners and
offered all the support from the embassy in developing joint
activities.
