Mr. Sahruka made these remarks in a meeting with the AIT President,
Prof. Said Irandoust on 15 August 2011. The President suggested that
while the Airline industry has concentrated on sponsoring sports and
other entertainment related events, they can also consider furthering
the cause of sustainability. The AIT President said the Institute could
help Sri
Lankan Airlines in spreading the message of education,
sustainability and CSR.
Mr. Sahruka was accompanied by Mr. Sitdhichon Phinijrithikorn,
Passenger Sales Manager, and Ms. Krongkaew Chatkrathok, Sales Support
Assistant. Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Director, Fundraising, also
participated in the meeting. The Sri Lankan Airlines delegation was
also introduced to the Hon. Gitanjana Gunawardena, Deputy Minister of
Finance and Planning, Government of Sri Lanka, who was also visiting
AIT that day.
