The day also witnessed numerous events, including a slow bicycle race,
an athletics relay race and a mini-marathon. Prof. Sudip
Kumar Rakshit, Vice-President for Research inaugurated the special
sporting event. The mini-marathon was won by Mr. San Visal in
the18-40 years age category, followed by Mr. Suresh Khadka who came
second and Mr. Mai Tu Thien who won the third position. In the over 40
year’s category, Dr. Sylvain Perret won the race followed by Dr. Mathew
Dailey.
The relay race for women was won by the team comprising of Ms. Lakshika
Prabodini Semasinghe, Ms. Nipuni Perera, Ms. Shaini Dilsha, and Ms.
Yashodhya Dhanapala. The team made up of Ms. Thipsukon Khumsaeng, Ms.
Wah Wah Htwe, Ms. Niluka Surangi Bandara and Ms. Chutima Auaparadorn
came second, while the third spot went to team members, Ms. W.A.H.S.S.
Wewala, Ms. Sanika Krishnamali Wijayasekara, Ms. Kumari, and Ms.
Upeksha.
In the men’s category, the relay race was won by Mr. Sachham Man Budda,
Mr. Shashank Raj Bhattarai, Mr. Kinley Vanchu lc, and Mr. Sonam, while
the second position was bagged by the team comprising of Mr. Suresh
Khadka, Mr. Saurav G.C., Mr. Pratik Basu and Mr. Pham Noy
Hguygen.
The women’s slow bicycle race was won by Ms. Patumma Potsungnoen, while
Ms. Kopila Thapa came second and Ms. Nantaporn Jitprasert came third.
In the men’s category, the slow bicycle race was won by Mr. San Visal,
followed by Mr. Vu Van Manh who came second and Mr. Dinesh Mani
Bhandari who was third.
