Dear Members of the AIT Community,
Since my 2nd update this morning, we have just come from
another site inspection. As reported earlier, the dyke damage from last
night
there is a second leak detected (along S2 in the picture below) which will be repaired.
The excess water is now covering
part of the AIT golf course, and we have now decided to use the AIT
golf course as a buffer between the main AIT campus and the highway, by
building a second inner dyke, just behind the golf course, facing the
main campus.

We have requested the Thai
Government for manpower help, and happy to let the community know that
our request has been granted, and we expect to receive 170 Royal
Thai Army personnel very soon this
afternoon, who will be stationed at AIT for a few days, to complete the
above mentioned work. With this additional manpower, we estimate that
this work can be completed within 24-hours.

We would also like to invite
volunteers who can work side-by-side with the Royal Thai Army
and Sodexo and AIT teams. Further
information on the engagement of the volunteers will be communicated

above mentioned facts we do not plan any evacuation as of
now. With this new
