AIT donates 400 survival packs to flood-impacted communities

Last weekend on Saturday, November 26, Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai,
Chairman of AIT Recovery and Rebuilding Committee (ARRC) and Vice
President for Resource Development, organized the donation of 400 flood
survival packages to two flood-impacted communities situated near the
main AIT campus.

Residents of Moo Ban Tah Klong and Soi Kochasarn had earlier
complained about 12 industrial water pumping machines recently
installed by AIT to pump water from the campus. The villagers requested
AIT to reduce the pumping capacity from 12 to 6 machines and to dredge
the canal alongside the inundated communities.

AIT responded to their complaints by reducing the pumping capacity on
Sunday and on the morning of Monday, November 28. The canal was
dredged, and later the pumping capacity was increased to use all 12
machines.

Prof. Worsak met with the communities’ leaders along with faculty
members Dr. Noppadol Phien-wej, Dr. Vilas Nitivattananon, Dr Thammarat
Koottatep Dr. Babel Mukand Singh, and Prof. Gabor Hornyak.
