University of Petroleum and Energy Studies seeks partnership

Led by the Vice Chancellor of University of Petroleum and Energy
Studies
, Dr. Parag Diwan, the delegation  remarked that the
two Universities could embark on student and faculty exchange, besides
joint research and educational programs. Dr. Diwan added that their
partner Institute, the Indian School of Petroleum and
Energy,
offers continuing education programs and they could liaise
with AIT Extension. He stated that during its early years, the
University had concentrated on the oil and gas sector; but it has now
diversified into the transportation sector and energy, particularly
renewable energy.

Prof. Said Irandoust, President, AIT, elaborated on the various
partnership programs with educational institutions and universities in
India. Prof. I. M.Pandey, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr.
Nitin Kumar Tripathi, Associate Dean, School of Engineering and
Technology (SET); Dr. Anil Kumar Anal, Associate Dean,School of
Environment, Resources and Development (SERD); Mr. Voravate Chonlasin,
Head, Public Sector Capacity Building, AIT Extension; Mr. Olivier
Drean, Interim-Head, External Relations and Communications Office
(ERCO); and Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal, Senior Program Officer, ERCO also
participated in the meeting.

Dr. Diwan was accompanied by Mr. Nishant Sadhana of Indian School of
Petroleum and Energy; Mr. Sanjay Gupta of Star Asia (Far East) Co. Ltd,
and Dr. Neeru, former faculty member, Dubai campus of Birla Institute
of Technology and Science, Pilani.
