SHE foundation trustee visits AIT
Dr. Burra Divya Sunitha Raj, Trustee of SHE (Social Awareness, Health and Education) Foundation, visited the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and discussed ways to promote AIT in India and Ukraine. Dr. Raj, who is also an Indian representative at the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sports, Ukraine, stated that AIT has a lot to offer, and prospective students from India and Ukraine will find AIT an attractive destination.
Dr. Raj, while inviting a delegation from AIT to visit Ukraine,
remarked that entry into Ukraine can be a gateway for 46 countries in
Europe. She also elaborated on the activities of SHE Foundation.Welcoming the delegation, Prof. I. M. Pandey, Vice President for
Academic Affairs, AIT, stated that India being a signatory of the new
AIT Charter, the Institute is looking towards ways to enhance its
mutual relationship.  He briefed Dr. Raj of the recent
developments in AIT, and sought their help in helping AIT raise finance
from both the Government and the corporate sector.Dr. Raj mentioned that the Government of India is promoting training
of professionals, and AIT could capitalize on this scheme. Dr. Nitin
Afzulpurkar, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology (SET), AIT,
stated that AIT is planning to launch a new program with a US-based
partner, where the student will spend two and half years each at AIT
and in the US. Such programs would have great potential to prospective
students, he said. Dr. Weerakorn Ongsakul, Dean, School of Environment,
Resources and Development (SERD), elaborated on the programs offered in
the field of energy, which could be of interest to both Ukraine and
India. Dr. Nitin Kumar Tripathi, Associate Dean, School of Engineering
and Technology (SET), complimented the work done by Dr. Raj in helping
AIT in the promoting dual-degree programs in India.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Olivier Drean, Interim-Head,
External Relations and Communications Office (ERCO); Ms. Laarni Roa,
Acting Head, Student; and Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal, Senior Program Officer,
ERCO.
