Republic of Sri Lanka, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Federal Democratic
Republic of Nepal, and Republic of Bangladesh.

The AIT Charter was signed on 25 August 2010 in the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of Thailand, when 12 countries and one
intergovernmental organization signed the AIT Charter. The signatories
included People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Kingdom of Cambodia, Republic
of India, Japan, Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Islamic Republic
of Pakistan, Republic of Philippines, Republic of Seychelles,
Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom
of Thailand, Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, and United Nations

Subsequently, on 20 January 2011, Republic of Indonesia became the

The AIT Charter, which confers the status of an International

AIT’s association with Viet Nam is deep-rooted, and the Institute was
conferred the “2006 Friendship Order” by the Government of Vietnam for
contributing toward human resource development in the country.

AIT has produced 2,741 alumni from Viet Nam and trained 15,000
Vietnamese nationals in various short-term training courses. AIT Center
in in Viet Nam (AIT-VN) was established in 1993 following an agreement
between the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), Vietnam, and AIT

AIT-VN has centers in three cities in Vietnam, namely Hanoi, Ho Chi
Minh City and Can Tho.
