The delegation headed by Dr. Yusuf Fuad of State University of
Surabaya, and Ms. Yusni Tarigan, Head of Faculty Affairs stated that
DIKTI will now be following a single-window system for award of
scholarships. While seeking cooperation in research and academic
programs, they also sought to formalize a partnership with AIT. “Our
first preference is that Indonesian scholars should study in ASEAN
countries,” Dr. Fuad remarked during a visit to AIT on 3 October
2012.
Dr. Fuad also proposed that they could depute guest lecturers to AIT.
Adding that the Director General of DIKTI is an AIT alumnus, he
proposed a formal agreement between the two.
Prof. I.M.Pandey, Vice President for Academic Affairs, AIT stated that
AIT has a long relationship with Indonesia. Besides students,
Indonesian faculty and staff have been contributing to AIT. Also
participating in the meeting were Dr. Nitin Afzulpurkar, Dean, School
of Engineering and Technology (SET); Dr. Anil Kumar Anal, Associate
Dean, School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD); Mr.
Ahmed Amjad Ali, Head, External Relations and Communications Office
(ERCO); Mr. Tenzin, Rabgyal, Senior Program Officer, ERCO; and Ms.
Sumana Shrestha, Program Officer, ERCO.
Later the delegation met Dr. Sangam Shrestha of Water Engineering and
Management (WEM); Dr. Djoen San Santoso of Construction Engineering and
Infrastructure Management (CEIM); Dr. Rajendra Prasad Shrestha,
Coordinator, Natural Resources Management Program (NRM); Dr. Huynh
Trung Luong of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM); and Dr.
Vilas Nitivattananon, Coordinator, Urban Environmental Management
(UEM). The delegation also interacted with DIKTI scholars studying in
AIT.
