FAO to strengthen engagement with AIT
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is interested in strengthening its commitment with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), particularly after its announcement of new policy directions of promoting research in academic institutions and building human resources. Stating this, Mr. Hiroyuki Konuma, Assistant Director General and Regional Representative for Asia and the Pacific, remarked that AIT has a history of collaboration with FAO, and both should explore ways of greater engagement.

The event is being jointly organized by the Yunus Center at AIT, Thai Health Promotion Foundation, Thai Management Association (TMA), Thai Social Enterprise Office, and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).Prof. Yunus will deliver the keynote address on "Social Business: A new business model for the new millennium.

Timor Leste Ambassador assures all help to AIT
Ambassador of Timor Leste to Thailand, H.E. Mr. João Freistas de Câmara, assured the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) of all help to facilitate the program initiated by AIT towards capacity building in his country. During a visit to AIT on 25 April 2012, H.E. Mr. Câmara remarked that Timor Leste had made a substantial budget allocation for human resource development.
BNU delegation visits AIT seeking student exchange and joint research
An eight-member strong delegation arrived from China on 24 April 2012 to explore the possibility of joint research and student exchange with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). Led by Prof. Li Xiaoxi, Deputy Director, Beijing Normal University Academic Committee, the delegation held talks with the AIT administration as well as its schools, extension and outreach centers.
