Professor Emeritus Dr. Sahas Bunditkul, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the AIT Board of Trustees and former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, along with Professor Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Interim AIT President, led an AIT delegation on an official visit to Nepal from 18-20 July 2013 at the invitation of the AIT Alumni Association-Nepal (AITAA-N) and the Nepal Education Foundation-Consortium of Colleges, Nepal (NEF-CCN). The three-day visit was highlighted by meetings with the country’s president, interim prime minister and foreign minister.

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 19 July 2013 announced the names of 66 successful recipients of full academic scholarships for Master degree programs awarded under the prestigious His Majesty the King’s Scholarships, Her Majesty the Queen’s Scholarships and Loom Nam Khong Pijai (GMS) Scholarships programs, for study at AIT beginning in August 2013.

JAXA continues support for AIT, deputes faculty for three years

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) continues to support the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and as a latest step in its ongoing partnership announced a three-year secondment of Dr. Shinichi Nakamura. A delegation of JAXA, headed by Mr. Toru Sasaki, Director, Bangkok Office visited AIT on 17 July 2013 to introduce Dr. Nakamura, who serves as a Senior Engineer and Manager in the Flight Dynamics Division, Space Tracking and Data Acquisition Department, JAXA, Japan.
SPS Global hands over USD 8000 scholarship cheque to AIT

SPS Global, a company established by an alumnus of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), handed over an USD 8000 cheque to the AIT Interim President Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai to support the tuition fee of one student at AIT’s School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) in a brief ceremony held on 12 July 2013.
