Alumni-owned firm pledges 2 scholarships to AIT, offers additional expertise

The generous financial offer to AIT followed news last week of the
donation of one scholarship to the AIT School of Environment, Resources
and Development (SERD) by SPS Global Corporation, a company also
established by an AIT alumnus.

Three executives of the company led by its Managing Director Mr.
Supachai Rakpanitmanee (WEM '84); Executive Director, Mr. Anuthep
Chaovanalikit (SEC '82); and Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Chom
Tantitamtaworn (SEC '83) visited the campus on July 2 to confirm their
support to Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai on the occasion of his assuming
the Interim Presidency of AIT.

The Panya Consultants representatives also offered to help carry out a
feasibility and financial plan for the rehabilitation and upgrade of
all campus residential buildings, which were left damaged by the flood
of October 2011.

According to President Worsak, AIT plans to invite alumni-owned
companies to invest in the renovation and upgrading of the institute’s
residential facilities. Following discussions, the interim president
led the three officials on a tour of the campus to survey the damaged
buildings. The visiting officials said their feasibility plan would
include various options for AIT to consider.
