Inaugurating the conference, Mr. Samerjai Suksumek
, Deputy
Director-General, EPPO, who represented the EPPO Director-General,
stated that AIT is playing an important role in human resource
development. “In order to honor His Majesty King Bhumobol Adulyadej on
the auspicious occasion of His Majesty’s 80 Years Anniversary, the
Ministry of Energy through the Energy Conservation Promotion Fund
(ENCON) supported 10 Ph.D. scholarships in the Energy field of study at
AIT from 2010 to 2014.”
He expressed the hope that the conference would help all
participants exchange their research experience. Mr. Samerjai thanked
the electricity power utilities, including the Electricity Generating
Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Provincial Electricity Authority of
Thailand (PEA), Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), and other
institutions who had made this project as success. Dr. Weerakorn
Ongsakul of the Energy field of study at AIT’s School of
Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) thanked everyone for
their support.
AIT students who presented their research included Mr. Songkran
Pisanupoj, who spoke about “WADE Smart Grid Modeling Initiative.” Ms.
Sasima Charoenkit presented her work on “Building a Low Carbon and
Carbon Resilient Low-Income Housing Settlement.” Ms. Unchalee
Parinyacupt delivered her presentation on “Renewable Hybrid
(Solar-Biomass) System for Space Cooling and Water Heating
Application.” Mr. Titpong Samakpong spoke about “Robust Optimization
Based Optimal Power Flow Considering Wind and Solar Uncertainty.”
Mr. Kawin Ruamsuke presented his research on “Alternative Energy and
Energy Efficiency Policies of Passenger Vehicle in Thailand: A General
Equilibrium Analysis.” Ms. Rotchana Intharathirat spoke about her
research on “Energy Recovery from Municipal Solid Waste through
Gassification and GHG Emission Reduction Potential.” Ms. Anongphan
Man-im delivered a presentatin on “Risk Limiting Multi-Objective
Economic Dispath by NSPSO considering Wind and Solar
Uncertainties.”
