Shivaji University seeks to operationalize programs with AIT

Visiting AIT on 21 October 2013, the team from Shivaji University
expressed its intent to pursue integrated educational programs
including the unifed Bachelor-Master’s program, student exchange,
faculty exchange and joint research proposals. They also evinced
interest in the virtual classroom project and student internship at
AIT.

Leading the delegation Dr. A. S. Bhoite, Pro Vice-Chancellor, the
delegation revealed that Shivaji University had completed its golden
jubilee in 2012, and with its 279 affiliated colleges and institutes,
it has a combined student body of 300,000 students. The University also
runs 40 postgraduate programs and hosts 13 research institutions.

Dr. Bhoite was accompanied by Dr. A.B Rajage, Director, Board of
College and University Development, Prof. T.D. Shrike, Department
of Statistics; and Dr. S. S. Kulkarni, Dr. Megha Gulavani
Visharam, Dr. A. B. Sabale, Dr. P.S. Patankar, Dr. B.N.
Gophane, Dr. D. R. More,  Mrs. Kadam H. Chitralekha, Mr.
V. G. Gholape, and Mr. Mane Pratap, all members of the Management
Council, Shivaji University.

Welcoming the delegation Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai thanked the
delegation stating that AIT, with its history of partnerships will like
to collaborate with Shivaji University.

Also participating in the deliberations were Prof. Sivanappan Kumar,
Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Rajendra Shrestha of
School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD); Dr. Nitin
Kumar Tripathi of School of Engineering and Technology (SET); Mr. Ahmed
Amjad Ali, Head, External Relations and Communications Office (ERCO);
Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal, Senior Program Officer, ERCO and Interim
Coordinator, Admissions and Scholarships; Md. Zia Islam, Senior
Academic Officer, School of Management.
