Six officers of the Ministry of Agriculture, Bangladesh visited the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 22 April 2013 and expressed their desire to partner with the Institute. Led by Mr. Mohammad Zafar Ullah, Project Coordinator, Integrated Agricultural Productivity Project, the delegation evinced interest in issues related to food security, climate change, irrigation and water management.

Mongolian University of Science and Technology to send students to AIT
Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST) will be sending four students to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) as a part of their exchange program. Inception and planning workshop of AIT-EU regional SRI project
AIT has signed a new contract with European Union to implement the project titled “Sustaining and Enhancing the Momentum for Innovation and Learning Around the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in the Lower Mekong River Basin” (total cost of action 3.4 million Euro for 5 years).
An inception and planning workshop of the project “Sustaining and Enhancing the Momentum for Innovation and Learning Around the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in the Lower Mekong River Basin” will be organized from 9-12 April 2013 at the Conference Center of the Asian Institute of Technology.

AIT student receives AGU Berkner Fellowship
Mr. S. H. M. Fakhruddin, a doctoral student at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has been granted the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Berkner Fellowship. His paper on “Medium Range Ensembles Flood Forecasts for Community Level Applications†is among the three selected as an Outstanding Student Paper.
