Workshop offers recommendations for improved groundwater management in select Asian cities

The second and final regional workshop on groundwater management offered a set of recommendations for select Asian cities. Organized at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 24-25 July 2014, the workshop titled “Enhancing the groundwater management capacity in Asian cities through the development and application of groundwater sustainability index in the context of global change†focussed on sharing the outputs and reports of application of groundwater sustainability index.

This is the concluding workshop in the project supported by Asia Pacific Network for Global Change (APN) and jointly implemented by Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand; Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan; and International Research Center for River Basin Environment (ICRE), University of Yamanashi, Japan.

NCPO approves AIT budget of 119 million Thai Baht

Thailand’s National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has approved a budget of 119,153,000 Thai Baht from ‘the Central Budget for Cases of Emergency and Necessity’ for the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). This approval will cover 49 His Majesty The King Scholarships, 25 Her Majesty The Queen Scholarships, 26 Greater Mekong Sub-region Academic and Research Network (GMSARN) Scholarships and 200 Royal Thai Government (RTG) Fellowships for the year 2014.
