At AIT during a visit on 30 June 2014, Prof. Ranjith de Silva, Vice
Chancellor of UWA, stated that UWA has embarked on a program of helping
its faculty improve its educational qualifications. AIT is among the
universities where UWA faculty have expressed their desire to study, he
said. Prof. Ranjith stated that while two of his faculty will be
joining AIT in the August 2014 semester, more applicants will follow in
2015. He added that UWA being a new university, it has decided to focus
on developing entrepreneurial skills among its graduates.
Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Interim President, AIT, complimented the
vision of UWA, and reaffirmed AIT’s commitment towards capacity
building in Asia.

Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto, Interim Vice President for Research; Prof. Nitig
Kumar Tripathi, Director, Office of Special Degree Programs; Mr.
Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Director, Fundraising; Dr. Gabrielle Groves, Head,
External Relations and Communications Office (ERCO); and Dr. Tenzin
Rabgyal, Head, Admissions also met with Prof. Ranjith.
