The agreement was signed by Dr. Ryoji Isoyama, Executive Director,
EJEC and Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, President AIT. The scholarship
will be granted to a student enrolled in either Structural Engineering
or the Disaster Preparedness Mitigation and Management (DPMM) program.
While the Structural Engineering field of study is based in AIT’s
School of Engineering and Technology (SET), DPMM is jointly conducted
by AIT’s two schools, SET and School of Environment, Resources and
Development (SERD).
Appreciating AIT, Dr. Isoyama stated that the agreement would be the
first step in collaboration, and exchange of research and students. He
said that EJEC has traditionally concentrated in Africa, and it is now
expanding its business to Southeast Asia.
Prof. Worsak expressed his gratitude for the support offered to AIT.
He hoped that the agreement would lead to greater interaction between
AIT and EJEC. Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto, Vice President for Resource
Development (VPRD), also thanked EJEC for their support.
