AIT environmental science scholars rank high on Thailand top 100 list of published authors
AIT placed two scholars in the top
five, seven in the top 20, and 13 in the first 50 list of authors. The
results were based on the number of scholarly publications produced by
each academic author during the five-year period.

Prof. Mukand Singh Babel of the Water Engineering and Management field
of study at the AIT School of Engineering and Technology placed second
among all academics working in Thailand, with a total of 42
publications during the period.

Prof. Chettiyappan Visvanathan, who is dean of the AIT School of
Environment, Resources and Development and lectures at the
Environmental Engineering Management field of study, ranked fourth with
39 papers published.

Professor Visvanathan was also AIT’s most cited author in the field of
environmental science, earning 222 citations overall at a rate of 5.7
citations per academic paper published.

Scopus covered the writings of all faculty members working in the
field of environmental science at all universities nationwide. The
database contains abstracts and citations for academic journal articles
published in thousands of peer-reviewed journals.

The solid performance of AIT’s relatively small-sized faculty
underscored the international postgraduate institute’s reputation as a
regional leader in environmental science research and development, AIT
officials said.
