and research programs at AIT. On his maiden visit to AIT, the JNTUH
Rector interacted with coordinators of various programs and discussed
details of the Unified program.Prof. Nitin Kumar Tripathi, Director, Special Degrees Program,
AIT, elaborated on how the Unified program offers a better
professional career path for students. “It is a fast-track program
which allows students to complete both their Bachelor’s and Master’s
programs in five years, instead of six years,” he said. The condensed
duration of the program implies that the cost of the program is also
lesser, he added. He stated that so far 89 students from JNTU Hyderabad
and Kakinada have arrived at AIT under the Unified Program. .
AIT had signed agreements with Chiang Mai University, Thailand; JNTU
(Kakinada and Hyderabad), and Assam Don Bosco University, India to
offer the Unified program. In January 2016, the College of Agriculture,
Maharashtra, India, also signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to
offer this program.
The delegation included Prof. T. Kishan Kumar Reddy, Rector; Dr. N
Yadaiah, Registrar; Dr. A Goverdhan, Principal; Dr. C Reddy, Professor;
and Dr. B. Divya Sunitha Raj and Dr. BVK Raj of the SHE Foundation.
Representing AIT in the deliberations were Prof. Rajendra Shrestha,
Dean, School of Environment, Resources and Development; Dr. Matthew
Dailey, Dr. Shinichi Nakamura, Dr. Sarawut Ninsawat, and Ms. Tripti
Rajbhandari from School of Engineering and Technology (SET); Dr.
Shobhakar Dhakal and Dr. Oleg Shipin from SERD; and Dr. Tenzin Rabgyal,
Coordinator, Admissions and Scholarships Office. Later the delegation
met with AIT’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Sivanappan
Kumar.
