About Prof.  Bogárdi:

Prof. Bogárdi is Professor at the University of Bonn, Germany. He is a Senior Fellow of the Center for Development Research, and had served as a faculty member at AIT in the 1980s. He served for 14 years in the UN system, first at the UNESCO International Hydrological Programme, finishing his UN service as Director of the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security; and then as Vice Rector in Europe. He was also Executive Officer of the Global Water System Project (GWSP).

Professor Bogárdi began his career with research and consulting in Europe and Africa. He graduated from TU Budapest in 1969 and holds a Dr.-Ing. degree from Karlsruhe University (1979) and three Dr. h. c. distinctions from universities in Poland, Hungary and Russia. He is author of over 200 research papers, reports, articles, book chapters and books. Professor Bogárdi has visited more than 60 countries on professional assignments.
