AIT co hosts 15th General Conference of the International Association of Universities (IAU)

This year the IAU General Assembly focussed on sharing strategies and
practices that demonstrate how higher education institutions contribute
to innovation and sustainability. The Conference also sought to
determine how higher education institutions and IAU can emerge as true
catalysts for change. The theme this year was “A catalyst for
innovative and sustainable societies.”

Key participants in the inaugural session included Prof. Worsak
Kanok-Nukulchai, President, AIT; Dr. Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, President,
IAU; Prof. Bundhit Eua-arporn, President, Chulalongkorn University;
Prof. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President, Siam University,and IAU
Vice-president; Prof. Charas Suwanwela, Former President, Chulalongkorn
University, Thailand; and Prof. Prasart Suebka, Rector, Suranaree
University of Technology, Thailand

IAU President, Professor Dzulkifli Abdul Razak conveyed that IAU
recognized and paid tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej for
his profound legacy to Thai people and the nation of Thailand, and the
world at large. Professor Charas Suwanwela delivered a Keynote Speech
on "Centenary Celebration of University System in Thailand".

IAU, founded in 1950, is the UNESCO-based worldwide association of
higher education institutions that brings together institutions and
organizations from 120 countries.
