The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has signed an agreement with Siam University to offer a Unified Bachelor Master degree program in Civil Engineering and Information Technology. The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed by Dr Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President, Siam University, and AIT President Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai on 9 November 2017.
President of Siam University, Dr Pornchai commended the “long and prestigious history of AIT” in advancing the cause of education, and added that it was an honor and pleasure to be associated with AIT in offering academic programs. “This international program should attract students from all over,” Dr Pornchai said. He described the program as a good opportunity where both AIT and Siam University can combine their respective strengths.
President Worsak stressed that this offering should be an elite program, stating that only those students who secure excellent scores will be eligible to pursue this stream. Prof. Nitin Kumar Tripathi, Director, Special Degree Programs, AIT, mentioned that Thailand has a potential to emerge as an educational hub and that this program can help in attracting international students to Thailand.
The Unified program will cover two streams - civil engineering and information technology, and the intake would be restricted to 30 students each.

AIT was represented by President Worsak; Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto, Vice President for Administration; Prof. Voratas Kachitvichyanukul, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology (SET); Prof. Nitin Kumar Tripathi, Director, SDP, Dr. Matthew Dailey, Head , Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), SET’ and Ms. Wannapa Pliansri, Consultant, Office of President.
