AIT will launch an international double degree Master’s program in Wireless Communications Engineering with the University of Oulu (UOulu), Finland. The agreement to launch the program was finalized during the visit of Ms. Hanna Saarela, Development Manager, Centre for Wireless Communications, University of Oulu, Finland, during her visit to AIT on 19 December 2017.
The cooperation agreement between AIT and UOulu has been signed by Dr. Helka-Liisa Hentila, Vice-Rector, and Prof. Jukka Riekki, Dean of Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE) at UOulu; and Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, President AIT and Prof. Voratas Kachitvichyanukul, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology (SET).
According to the agreement, both universities will award a Master in Science to candidates who successfully complete the program by accumulating 120 ECTS/49 credits in two academic years. The first batch of students is expected to commence studies in August 2018.
The agreement exchange ceremony at AIT was witnessed by Ms. Hanna Saarela on behalf of UOulu. AIT was represented by President Worsak, Dean of SET, Prof. Voratas Kachitvichyanukul; Dr. Matthew N. Dailey, Head, Department of Information and Communication Technologies, SET; Dr. Attaphongse Taparugssanagorn of Telecommunications; Information and Communications Technologies; Mr. Shawn Kelly, Director, Office of External Relations. Later Ms. Hanna Saarela also delivered a talk on opportunities in Finland.
