Professor Deepak Sharma assumed office as the new Vice President for Academic Affairs on April 1, 2019. After completing his Masters in 1987 and Ph.D. in 1990 from AIT, he moved to the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) where he served as a faculty member for 28 years.

10 New Scholarships for Master Degree Programs at AIT

Ten new scholarships will be available for pursuing Master Degree Programs at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) from the August 2019 semester. This follows an agreement signed by Siam Cement Public Company Limited (SCG) and Dr. Eden Y. Woon, President of AIT on 16 May 2019.
SCG will sponsor two candidates every year for five years.

Research at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has earned the Institute the Highly Commended Paper Literati Award 2019 from Emerald Publishing, United Kingdom. A paper authored by Dr. Jedsadaporn Sathapatyanon, a graduate of AIT’s School of Environment, Resources, and Development (SERD), titled “The Role of Farmer Organizations and Networks in the Rice Supply Chain in Thailand” is this year’s recipient of the Award.

AIT Re-establishing its Brand in Europe — President visits 11 Universities

President Eden Woon this month led a two-week AIT international cooperation mission to five countries across Europe. From May 2-14, the president engaged with university leaders for bilateral cooperation at eleven distinguished universities in the United Kingdom, France, Lithuania, Estonia and Romania, discussing bilateral relations, signing academic cooperation agreements at four institutions, laying the groundwork for future research collaboration, expanding exchange destinations for our students from Asia, and speaking at two international conferences.
