The first meeting between China State Construction Engineering Team (CSCE Thailand) and AIT Belt & Road Research Center, hosted by its Director Dr. Wenchao Xue, was successfully held under the framework of Belt and Road Initiative on February 5, 2021 at AIT Entrepreneurship Center.
Launched with the theme of 23-kilometer China-Thailand highspeed rail project cooperation, the in-depth discussions and task division of key cooperation directions such as laboratory cooperation and training programs were among the topics covered.
"This is a great project, which is of great significance to the continued closeness of China-Thailand relations," said Mr. Chongming Liu, CSCE representative. "Whereas challenges such as how to merge the standards of the two countries for construction may exist, collaborating with experts from AIT will be a great opportunity for us to overcome these challenges." In this regard, Prof. Pennung Warnitchai expressed that AIT has sufficient strength and confidence in collaborating and supporting our partners.
In addition, training program and implementation were also discussed during the meeting, "AIT can provide professional virtual training programs. We anticipate the successful application of CSCE," said Dr. Christopher Garnier, Executive Director of AIT Extension.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Naveed Anwar, Vice President of AIT, looked forward to the upcoming cooperation from a win-win perspective. "We need to communicate closely and work together to achieve the goal of mutual benefit and development. This is also in line with the vision of the Belt and Road Initiative."
Participating in this inaugural meeting were eight representatives of CSCE, led by Mr. Chongming Liu, and seven representatives from AIT, led by Dr. Naveed Anwar, Vice President of AIT. After the meeting, CSCE representatives were also shown around AIT laboratory which was praised to be of a high standard.
CSCE was formally established in 1982 and is one of China's most professional and globalized investment and construction companies, representing the highest level of China's construction industry.
