The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), in partnership with Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN), successfully organized the “Remote Sensing of Water” training event within the frame of the research project “Climate Change Risk Assessment for Southeast Asian Lakes (CCRASEAL)”.
Virtually held on 23 – 25 November 2021 and coordinated by Dr. Salvatore G. P. Virdis, Assistant Professor at RSGIS/ICT/SET and CCRASEAL Project Leader, the course was co-designed and taught along with Dr. Chitrini Mozumder, RSGIS Research Specialist, and Mr. Siwat Kongwarakom, CCRASEAL Project Manager and RSGIS Research Assistant.

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on November 12, 2021 with the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Research Center of Feng Chia University (FCU) in Taiwan to enable development of joint master and doctoral degree programs as well as to extend collaborations on academic and technical exchanges.
November 20th - 21st, 2021 — Asian Institute of Technology Alumni Association (AITAA) and AITAA Vietnam Chapter, in partnership with AIT Extension, hosted the “50th Asian Institute of Technology Alumni Association Governing Board Meeting (AITAA-GBM)” where AIT alumni from around the world reunited virtually.
During the last 30-years Thailand has been one of the top 12 car manufacturing countries in the world, and she is aiming to be one of the world’s hub for Electric Vehicles manufacturing as well. More than 10 international car manufacturers have started or are planning to start EV and hybrid vehicle assemblies in Thailand, and also some of the world’s largest EV battery factories are under construction here.

Eleven, up from four last year, of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT)’s faculty members and emeritus professors are recognized for their most recent single year impact -- while nine, up from seven last year, are recognized for their career-long impact up until 2020. Overall, thirteen AIT professors are placed among the global top 2% of influential scientists, according to the report of “Composite Citation Metrics” by Elsevier BV Netherlands and Stanford University, released in August 2021.
In the research arena, citations not only portray the influence a scientist has on their peers, but also lay foundations for new discoveries and innovative ideas.
