PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC) represented by Dr. Chaya Chandavasu, Executive Vice President, Sustainability, agreed to support THB 500,000 for scholarships and research in the Marine Plastics Abatement (MPA) program, School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD).
GC is Thailand’s largest integrated petrochemical and refining business and a leading corporation in Asia-Pacific region. Their vision is to be a leading global chemical company for better living as they combine environmentally friendly innovations with advanced technologies to develop products that improve people’s lives. GC is playing a lead role to advance solutions to manage plastic waste in the environment and especially in the ocean align with their vision. The company is the world number one in chemical sector in Dow Jones Sustainability indices for three consecutive years.
Currently, they have manufacturing plants and distributors in 13 countries globally. Aligned with the Paris Agreement, GC aims to reduce current CO2 emissions for 20 percent by 2030 on their journey towards achieving Net Zero by 2050.
AIT President Dr. Eden Woon expressed his sincere thanks to GC for the support where AIT will be able to provide the students enrolled in the MPA program with additional scholarships and research grants that will enable them to achieve their academic pursuits.
