March 1st , 2022 — Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Delta Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate and jointly promote knowledge exchange in research and development (R&D) for technology. Through the partnership, the collaboration aims to enhance AIT students' competencies in innovations of Delta Electronics and to drive sustainable development in Thailand and Southeast Asia.
Delta Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited was founded in 1988 with a mission to provide innovative, clean, and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow. Its current power management products include power systems for information technology, automotive, telecommunications, industrial applications, office automation, medical industries, EV chargers, AC-DC converters, and adapters. The company remains at the forefront of power management solutions and the manufacturing of electronic components in India and Southeast Asia with R&D centers around the world.
The signing of MoU took place in-person at AIT where the two presidents discussed core competencies of each institution to gain better insights into existing and further areas of collaboration.
“It is a very good moment to sign an MoU and to be working together for the years to come,” President of Delta Electronics (Thailand), Mr. Chang Tsai-hsing remarked, noting that it was his honor to visit AIT. He further stated that Delta Electronics has put a high emphasis on collaborating with educational institutions, citing that its Founder and Honorary, Mr. Bruce C.H. Cheng, is passionate about education — thus, the company has been providing sponsorships and internships to the students from many universities. By signing the MoU with AIT, President Tsai-hsing highlighted, “students (from AIT) will have opportunities in terms of cultural exchange to work in different areas of the world for broader perspectives.”
AIT President Dr. Eden Woon remarked, “working with AIT, Delta Electronics will encounter students who have broader outlook and high in diversity.” While providing an overview of how AIT’s research and contributions have had an impact in the real world and highlighted that the institute is now working even more closely with the industries, enterprises and companies. “This MoU with Delta is highly important to AIT and to the society,” President Woon concluded, adding that the MoU is the first step to a long and fruitful relationship.
