AIT Interim President Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai signed the MoU on 3
September 2013 in the presence of delegation from NIT. The MoU seeks to
enable cooperation between AIT and NIT in pursuit of common interests
in teaching, training and research. Besides facilitating interaction
between the two institutions, the collaboration aims to foster
advancement in teaching, training, research and expertise
exchange.
A delegation of NIT led by Dr. K R Balasubramanian, and
including Dr. S Suresh, Dr. V Mariappan, and Dr. S P Sivapirakasam of
the Department of Mechanical Engineering visited AIT on 3 September
2013 to explore areas of mutual interest. The delegation stated that
NITT is a premier institute in higher technological education, and
basic and applied research. It has been accorded the title of
“Institute of National Importance” by the Indian Parliament.
Established in 1964, the Institute is now on its way of celebrating its
golden jubilee.
Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Worsak expressed his happiness at
partnering with reputed institutions, stating that AIT looks forward
towards working together with NITT. In the meeting, AIT was also
represented by Dr. Donyaprueth Krairit, Acting Dean, School of
Management; Dr. Sangam Shrestha, Acting Associate Dean, School of
Engineering and Technology (SET); Dr. Huynh Trung Luong of SET; Mr.
Ahmed Amjad Ali, Head External Relations and Communications Office
(ERCO); And Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal, Senior Program Officer, ERCO, and
Interim Coordinator, Admissions and Scholarships.
