10 persons from AIT proceed to 7 European Universities under Erasmus Mundus Panacea Program

The nine students from AIT who have been selected Hung Anh Ta
(Vietnam), Muhammad Makky (Indonesia), Bao Phu Hoang (Vietnam), Rey
Anthony Cojuangco (The Phillippines), Chittanan Somakettarin
(Thailand), Hai Van Huynh (Vietnam), Su Su Myat (Myanmar), Prakash
Nimblakar (India), and Om Prakash Gujela (India). Ms. Rowena Alcoba of
AIT Extension has been selected from among the academic staff.

Most students spend between six to ten months in the partner
universities in Europe, while the academic staff spend one month. Three
of the students are proceeding to University of Turku (Finland), while
two are going to the University of Bologna (Italy). One student and one
staff member are going to Alexander Technological Educational
Institution of Thessaloniki (Greece). One student each is proceeding to
Uppsala University (Sweden), University of Bologna (Italy), Vilniius
Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania), and University of Warsaw
(Poland).

Five students are from AIT’s School of Environment, Resources and
Development; three from the School of Engineering and Technology, and
one from the School of Management.

PANACEA is an Erasmus Mundus project funded by the European Commission
aiming the set up of academic and staff mobility between universities
from Asia (Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Mongolia, Indonesia,
Thailand, China, Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Philippines,
North Korea) with European universities.

The consortium comprises of 10 European universities and 10 Asian
universities. All partner universities of the consortium offer study
programs and training in many fields and are linked with research
laboratories recognized in these fields. Asian Institute of Technology
is one of the ten consortium partners in Asia.
