AIT Team wins Bangkok Cricket League ‘A’ division

Winning the toss, the AIT team selected to bat first and reached 160
runs in its allotted 25 overs. The Bangkok Cricket Club managed toscore
145 for seven wickets, and thereby lost the match to AIT.

Top run scorers from AIT included Niraj Reginald and Rusriu
Yapa (both from Sri Lanka) who scored 31 runs each. Farhad
Zulfiqar (Pakistan) with 26 runs, Darshana (Sri Lanka) with 18 runs,
Babrak Ali Panezai (Pakistan) and Shubham Agarwal (Nepal) with 11 runs
each were the main scorers for AIT. Wicket takers from AIT included
Terrence Levangama (Sri Lanka) who took two wickets; while Muhammad
Shafiq (Pakistan), Anuj Shrestha (India), Yapa and Darshana Abeyrathna
(Sri Lanka) took one wicket each.

Hadi Hassan Khan (Pakistan), the captain of the
AIT Cricket Team said that this is the second time in three years that
AIT has won the ‘A’ league division. Last year, AIT had reached the
semi-finals of the Bangkok Premier League.

AIT also performed exceedingly well in the entire
tournament, with Babrak having the best batting average of 50 runs. The
top run scorer in the league was Shafiq with 388 runs, while the top
wicket taker was Hadi with 21 wickets.
