The President, accompanied by Ms. Izel Ann Mojado Dante, Head of
Administration; Karma Rana, Institute Secretary; Ms. Chadarat
Nissaipan, Administrative Assistant to the President, and Mr. Stephen
Andrews, Contract Manager, Sodexo Thailand, started an early morning
bicycle tour of the campus by visiting the student dormitories and the
staff housing facilities.
The team then went to various school buildings and administrative
offices to get a first-hand experience of the maintenance of campus
facilities.At the Physical Plant, the President appreciated the quick
actions taken by Sodexo in controlling the small fire in the
electrical panel at the Student Union Snack Bar and stressed the need
for all concessionaires to comply with health and safety
standards.
While complimenting the efforts of Sodexo in renovating some old
facilities, the President said there had been a considerable
improvement since July last when Sodexo took over the AIT assignment.
He visited the accommodation office, the kitchen facilities at the AIT
Conference Center, as well as the Swimming Pool, and made enquiries
about the state of affairs.
The President later visited the newly created facilities at the AIT
Conference, where five new Centers are being located, namely the Yunus
Center at AIT, Centre for Learning Innovation & Quality (CLIQ),
Asian Center for Corporate Social Responsibility at AIT, ASEAN Regional
Center for Excellence on MDGs and the UN Center. The three-hour tour
was an initiative of the AIT administration to ensure a “Clean and
Green Campus” at AIT.
