President’s eleven triumphs in AIT Sports Day football match

This helped the President’s team seek revenge of the defeat inflicted
upon it by the AIT Student Union during the Golden Jubilee football
match held in November 2010. Aided by exchange students from the
University of Boras, the Presidential side relied heavily on young
talent.

Organized by the AIT Student Union, the day also witnessed the formal
inauguration of the renovated gymnasium at the Student Union building.
Mini marathon, slow cycling and relay race were the other activities of
the day organized by the Student Union as a part of Sports Day
celebrations.

In the men’s category in the mini marathon, Mr. Pattarapol Sumreddee,
a Master’s student of AgriBusiness Management (ABM) of School of
Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) came first. Mr. Ribero
Thibault of Water Engineering and Management (WEM) in SET came second,
while Dr. Mathew Dailey, Assistant Professor, SET came third.

In the women’s category, Ms. Marjorie Louise P. Badiola, Assistant
Administrative Officer, Office of the AIT President came first, while
Ms. Phittinant Thavornpratana, Senior Administrative Officer, Office of
AIT President came second. Ms. Huang Zhirong of Gender and Development
Studies (GDS) came third.

According to Mr. Varun Kumra, Head, Sports Committee, AIT Student
Union, the team comprising of Mr. Pratik Kumar Basu, Mr. Prateek Ratna
Tuladhar, Mr. Saurav G.C., and Mr. Waizin Oo won the first prize in the
men’s relay race. They were followed by the team comprising of Mr.
Abdul Kader Nazmul, Mr. Chanchal Saha, Mr. Aurosree Biswas and Mr. Mg.
Manoruzzaman (with Mr. Md. Harris Aziz as team manager). The third
position was bagged by the team comprising of Mr.Pattarapol Sumreddee,
Mr.Abdul Aziz Mohibbi, Mr.K'broi, and Mr.Than Htut Soe.

In the slow bicycle race, Ms. Tipusa Kilavit came first in the women’s
category. She was followed by Ms. Bouakham Douangpanya in the second
position, while Ms. Sumiva Viengkeo came third. In the men’s category,
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan won the first prize. Mr. Sergio Gonzalves came
second, while Mr. Sanvisal came third.
