AIT strikes deal with Sodexo to rehabilitate key campus facilities beginning in May

Under the arrangement accepted unanimously by the AIT Main Campus
Rebuilding and Upgrading Committee at a meeting on April 17 in Bangkok,
Sodexo agreed to defer all payments from AIT for a period of two
months, following the completion of all rehabilitation work.

Facilities identified for refurbishment include the library, medical
clinic, intERLab, AIT Conference Center Suites, AITCC ground floor,
student dormitories U-Y, and 1.5 Floor student accommodations.

"This is a good arrangement for AIT at this difficult time. It
will allow us to move forward immediately on refurbishing key
facilities for our students and community, especially the library," AIT
President Prof. Said Irandoust said.

The payment grace period will enable major rebuilding work to commence
as early as the first week of May, even as AIT awaits flood
compensation from its insurance company, he added.

Sodexo's bid price for the work was accepted by the committee as
competitive and at market rate. All work will be conducted by project
teams under the guidance and direction of Sodexo.

AIT retains the right to withhold all payments for a period of up to
two months, following the completion of all projects. Once started,
rehabilitation work is expected to be completed within two months,
committee officials confirmed.
