The steering committee has representatives from each of the five

The HPU
initiative promises to advance the sustainable urbanization agenda
of UN-HABITAT through education, research, capacity building and
knowledge management. It seeks to bridge the gap between education,
research, policy and practice and promote sustainable urbanization in
education. “This will provide an opportunity for AIT to participate in
the finalization of the terms of reference of the initiative and
participate in joint programs in the future,” Prof Rakshit said.
The inaugural meeting witnessed participation from more than 50
universities, where governance, membership benefits and requirements,
and the organizational structure were discussed.
