Prof Mario T. Tabucanon appointed Emeritus Professor

Prof. Tabucanon is currently a Visiting Professor at the United
Nations University’s Institute of Advanced Studies in Yokohama, Japan.
He is also a Senior Adviser to the United Nations Environment Programme
at the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, and an International
Adviser to the Executive Board of the Sirindhorn International
Environmental Park Foundation under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness
Princess Maha Chakri Srindhorn, Thailand.

Prof. Tabucanon served as Acting President of AIT in 2005. He was
AIT’s Provost from 1999 to 2005 and the Vice President (Academic) from
1998 to 1999. Prior to these positions, he led the School of Advanced
Technologies as Dean and was the Chairman of the Division of Industrial
Engineering and Management. He was a member of the AIT Board of
Trustees from 1998 to 2001 and in 2005. He has been a faculty of AIT
since July 1978.

Prof. Tabucanon is a Board Member of the International Foundation for
Production Research, the International Industrial Engineering
Association, a founding member of the International Society for
Multiple Criteria Decision Making, among other professional societies.
He was also the founding director of the Greater Mekong Subregion
Academic and Research Network (GMSARN).
