Myanmar group for enhanced partnership with AIT

Chairman, MCC group, Mr. Tin Win Aung, who met the AIT President,
Prof. Said Irandoust on 13 June 2011, stated that MCC considers AIT as
a valuable partner. “We are keen to offer more AIT programs in Myanmar,
particularly in the field of Computer Science,” Mr. Aung said. He also
requested AIT to collaborate in a research institute being established
by MCC in Myanmar. The AIT President welcomed the MCC group, and
expressed interest in the proposed research institute.

The MCC delegation which also included Prof. Myo Myint, MCC Training
Institute (MCCi) Academic Board Member, met Prof. Dennes T Bergado and
Dr. Kunnawee Kanitpong of School of Engineering and Technology (SET),
to discuss road safety initiatives and the possible development of road
accident research center. They also held a meeting with Dr. Barbara
Igel, Dean, School of Management (SOM), and Dr. Amararatne
Yakupitiyage, Associate Dean for School of Environment, Resources and
Development (SERD) undergraduate program.

The AIT President was joined by Prof. Joydeep Dutta, Vice President
for Academic Affairs; Prof. Dennes T Bergado,Director, Unifed Programs;
Dr. Matthew N Dailey, Coordinator, Computer Science and Information
Management (CSIM) program, SET; Dr. Pritam Krishna Shrestha, Head,
External Relations and Communications Office (ERCO); and Mr. Kyaw Soe
Hlaing, Program Coordinator, ERCO.
