National Economics University explores partnership with AIT

Led by Prof. Truong Dinh Chien, Dean, Faculty of Marketing, the
delegation inquired about the possibility of unified Bachelor-Master
program, and AIT faculty visits to NEU.  The visitors explored
possible collaboration on marketing curriculum development
and attended a training course on “Methodologies in Developing
Electronic Teaching Materials” provided by AIT Extension.

Dr. Le Viet Thuy, Head of Training Management, said NEU was keen to
develop collaborative programs with AIT. He added that NEU, which was
established in 1956, has 45,000 students enrolled in various programs.
“Every year 4,000 Bachelor’s and 1000 Master’s students graduate from
NEU,” he added. Dr. Thuy also expressed a keen interest in faculty
development programs.

At AIT's School of Management, the delegation met with Dr.
Barbara Igel, Dean of SOM, along with faculty members Prof. Nazrul
Islam, Dr. Do Ba Khang, Dr. Arun Kumar Gopalaswamy, Dr. Juthathip
Jongwanich, Dr. Supasith Chonglerttham, and Dr. Vatcharapol
Sukhotu.

NEU's marketing faculty engaged in a lively exchange and
discussion on SOM's best practices and on curriculum
development, curriculum review and possible research collaboration.
Both parties expressed optimism for prospects of joint research
activites. Dr. Igel requested NEU to provide a list of research topics
being carried out and planned so that SOM could identify
areas of common interest.

Dr. Chien invited Dr. Igel and SOM faculty members to visit NEU to
discuss further about other areas for collaboration.
NEU expressed particular interest in SOM taking part in
curriculum development for its undergraduate program.
