Thailand’s Kasikornbank donated Baht 300,000 in support of the
construction of a new, upgraded Police Substation at the entrance of
the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thammasat University and
Science Park Complex located in Klong Luang, Pathumthani.

On April 29, 2010, a delegation from Kasikornbank led by Mr.

Senior Media Specialist.

individual police boxes existing at the entrances to AIT and TU will be
combined into one “Police Substation” located near AIT’s main entrance
gate. AIT will be responsible for the construction while Thammasat
will help with its final architecture. The cost of the Substation will
be shared by the three partner institutions.

The new police station, which is scheduled for completion in late
June, will become a strategic security center for AIT, Thammasat and
Science Park who together form one of the region’s foremost research
and knowledge hubs. Officials said it is also intended to keep pace
with the rapid commercial growth of the adjacent community.

will be manned by four police officers to serve the entire community
24-hours-a-day. The two-storey structure will be built with AIT’s
Habitech technology, and is to include a public service area, a meeting
room, and a living quarters.

During the hand-over ceremony, Prof. Worsak pointed out that AIT and
Kasikornbank have been partners since AIT moved to its present campus
in 1971. He said AIT and its community sincerely appreciated KBank’s
continued support. Mr. Wirawat thanked AIT for allowing
Kasikornbank to be a part of this corporate social responsibility
project, and added that his firm looked forward to enjoying the
cooperation of AIT.

Company had earlier donated Baht 300,000 on behalf of convenience store
chain 108 Shop towards the new Police Substation. Sodexo has also
agreed to provide free maintenance and cleaning services plus a small
token of cash support for furnishings.
