Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) shall be sending
students to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) following a new
Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed by the two institutes. The MOA was
signed by AIT President Said Irandoust with Founder Chancellor of KIIT,
Dr. Achyuta Samanta.
Under the MoA, KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM) will send
their students particularly to the Regional and Rural Development
Planning (RRDP) field of study at AIT’s School of Environment and
Resources Development (SERD). Under this innovative academic venture,
students will take a four credit course at RRDP and the credits will be
transferred to the students’ study program at KSRM. This year, 47
students will be enrolled and they will be reaching AIT on May 31
accompanied by Prof. Jyotirmayee Acharya. Prof. Gopal Bahadur Thapa,
Coordinator, RRDP and Prof. L.K.Vaswani, Pro Vice Chancellor, KSRM are
the contact persons for this program.
Based in Bhubaneswar in Orissa, India, KIIT was established in 1997
and was declared a university in 2004. It offers education from
kindergarten to postgraduate level, and has 15,000 enrolled students.
