Dear Members of the AIT Community,
Since my update this morning, the Royal Thai Army along with the
AIT-Sodexo team have taken a strategy to try and release the water
pressure by redirecting it towards the Phaholyothin Road temporarily,
to make it easier to work on the damaged dykes. They are also lowering
the pressure on the dykes by controlling the overflowing water through
a weir (spill way), which has been constructed. This work is ongoing
and seems to be quite successful so far.
However, since the flow of water into AIT is more than the volume
of water that is being pumped out (we have limited pump capacity as of
now), the level of water in certain residential areas of the campus has
been continuously increasing . Therefore, I am now activating level 2
for all residents of the campus except for Dorms A-K, to relocate to a
central location, where you can have safe shelter and access to food
and water supplies. The said residents will relocate to the AIT
Conference Center (AITCC) upon receipt of this message. Please get
ready with your belongings, as per policy communicated earlier, one
cabin baggage per person. Buses will start bringing residents from
these areas to the AITCC shortly. Kindly cooperate to complete the
relocation procedures as soon as possible and in an organized manner.
May I request that all of the student volunteers to facilitate this
process.

I would like to assure all members of the AIT community that there
is no need to panic and the above measures are being implemented in
order to minimize the inconvenience on members of the community.
