NITI to contribute to AIT Endowment Fund

Mr. Pradhan, who is also the former president of the Nepal Chapter of
the AIT Alumni Association, announced that while 50 per cent of NITI’s
earnings from the undergraduate recruitment would be spent on publicity
and AIT promotions, the remaining 50 per cent would be contributed to
the AIT Endowment Fund.

AIT President, Prof. Said Irandoust expressed his happiness and
gratitude at the announcement made by Mr. Pradhan. NITI signed two MOA
with AIT to act as a Student Recruitment Agent (SRA) for both
undergraduate and postgraduate students.NITI would help AIT recruit
both students and training participants from‭ ‬Nepal.‭

NITI,‭ which was ‬founded in‭ ‬2001‭ ‬is a consortium promoted by a
group of professionals‭ including ‬IT experts,‭ ‬engineers,‭
‬socio-economists,‭ ‬management‭ and ‬financial experts. Majority of
NITI professionals are AIT alumni. Its academic programs are offered
under the affiliation of Purbanchal University,‭ ‬a national university
empowered to award degrees in higher education in Nepal.‭

Apart from the AIT President and Mr. Pradhan, the MOA signing ceremony
was attended among others by Dr. Sriram Bhagut Mathe, Chairman, Nepal
Education Foundation, and Former Dean, Institute of Engineering,
Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal; Mr. Umesh Shrestha, Chairman, LA
College of Higher Studies (LACHS); Dr. Madan Manandhar, Director, LACHS
and Principal, LA College of Management and former Director, Nepal
Administrative Staff College; Rajesh Shrestha, Chief Financial
Controller, LACHS; and Ms. Shristi Limbu, Corporate Director, LACHS.
The AIT team included Prof. Joydeep Dutta, Vice President for Academic
Affairs; Dr. Pritam. K. Shrestha, Head, External Relations and
Communications Office (ERCO); Mr. Karma Rana, Institute Secretary and
Ms. Sumana Shrestha, Program Officer, ERCO.
