"Based on our available resources, the focus of the current
administration, in this dire situation of tragedy and emergency, has
been to minimize the loss to students, who are the major identity of
AIT," Prof. Said Irandoust, President, AIT said in a message to the AIT
community. The decision to resume classes has been taken keeping in
view the needs and demands of not just students from 42 countries from
where our students come from, but also our donors, supporters and
partner countries and Institutions, the President added.
The temporary location for academic programs is Hua-Hin, which is
located South of Bangkok. All students who have coursework and are
graduating this semester have been asked to return to Thailand during
the last week of November, and a pick up service from Suvarnabhumi
Airport to Hua-Hin is being organized between 28 November to 2 December
2011. Students pursuing their research, thesis and Ph.D. (all
