Mr. Jin Yuan Chen, former President of the AIT Alumni Association
(AITAA)-Taiwan Chapter, passed away on 28 July 2010, at the age of 63.
He was the Director of the Public Works of Taipei City, and also served
as the former Director-General of the Highways Bureau, Taiwan.
Mr. Chen graduated with a Master’s in Engineering in Geotechnical and
Transportation Engineering in 1984 from the AIT's School of Civil
Engineering. He was a very active member of the AIT alumni association.
AIT President, Prof. Said Irandoust has condoled Mr. Chen’s death and
stated that Mr. Chen’s contributions to the Institute, especially in
his capacity as the President of the AITAA-Taiwan Chapter, will always
be valued and remembered. “In the passing away of Mr. Chen we have lost
a close and dear friend of AIT,” the AIT President added. On behalf of
the AIT community, the President offered heartfelt condolences and
sympathies to the immediate family members, relatives and friends of
Mr. Chen.
